Shoutcasting
Shoutcasting has rapidly grown in popularity, particularly amongst the gaming community in recent times. Some may argue that it helps develop e-sports as a spectator sport and thereby grow the ever-expanding gaming community so that it may reach the homes of avid PC-title fans.
GearUpGaming has been working tirelessly during the launch of Starcraft 2 under the 4Pooled.com banner in an effort to bring the highly anticipated e-sports title home to otherwise casual gamers. By providing professional shoutcasting at the Starcraft 2 launch in Johannesburg our shoutcasting team, Jonathan ‘ZeeOne’ Attwell and Sven ‘Shadowthief’ Paulsen have done their utmost to help raise this game to a new level and spark enthusiasm amongst the community.
Their efforts were a massive success needlessly to say and have set the bar far above any previous attempt at shoutcasting a live event. GearUpGaming intends on keeping to this remarkable standard by providing quality commentary that is not bias, promotes fair play, represents sponsors and organisers in a professional manner that grants credit where it is due. It must also be noted that the shoutcasting is family-friendly and aims at representing pro gaming in the best possible light with the interests of the spectators at heart.
Where to from here some may ask? It is within continued community support that we pursue the dream of shoutcasting to a broader audience. Our listener and viewer count grows daily as we build momentum hand in hand with sponsors, organisers, spectators and – most importantly – the gamers themselves who make shoutcasting such a pleasure as the dramatic irony unfolds before us and we can do little to hold back the “OMG!”.
